Firearms License Application Process

The process is now electronic. The Firearm License application can be found at www.in.gov/isp/firearms.htm
The electronic application process is as follows:
- Go to the Website in.gov/isp
- Select Firearms Licensing
- Properly complete the application-(the address on the application must match the address on your driver’s license)
- Pay the State fee online
- Schedule fingerprint appointment-also done online on the website.
- Once fingerprints are completed bring your printing receipt, along with the local fee and a valid form of Identification to FWPD at 1 E Main St., Records Division (1st floor), Ft. Wayne, IN.
A properly completed firearm license application will be transmitted from the applicant’s computer to the proper police agency for approval. Once approved by the local police authority the application is electronically transmitted to the Indiana State Police Firearms Section for further processing.
