Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to reports of a disturbance involving an armed subject, Friday night in the area of 3500 Plaza Dr. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the homeowner, who advised, the suspect (Bianca Hernandez) was arguing with her child’s father, got upset, grabbed a machete and began swinging it wildly at the occupants in the home. The occupants exited the home and were locked out by Bianca. Despite continued efforts of loud hailing and telephone calls, Bianca refused to exit the home. A tactical team page was initiated, as a result of Bianca being barricaded in the home.
Tactical units arrived and continued efforts to get Bianca to exit the home voluntarily. After repeated failed attempts to get Bianca to exit the home of her own accord, tactical units breached the front door. Bianca, eventually then exited the home and was taken into custody without further incident.
Suspect: Bianca Hernandez, 32 years of age
Preliminary Charges: Criminal Recklessness, Level 6 Felony
