Details/Summary:

On Saturday, March 22, 2025, around 6:30 pm, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Wildwood Avenue in reference to a shooting. Upon their arrival, they found a female lying on the street with apparent gun-shot wounds. Medics arrived and subsequently pronounced her dead.

Currently, homicide detectives have begun their investigation starting by canvasing the neighborhood for witnesses and evidence. This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
