Fatal Shooting

Details:

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred today at the Economy Inn at roughly 11:27am.  Preliminary information indicates that two adult males got into an altercation and that during the course of that altercation one of the males got shot.  The victim was rendered aid by medics but succumbed to his injuries.  The other male was placed into custody and is being interviewed by Homicide detectives. 

Crime Scene officers made the scene and began to process the area for evidence.  This is an active and fluid investigation and is in its preliminary stages.  The Coroner’s office will identify the deceased, pending next of kin notification and determine the cause and manner of death. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
