The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a domestic incident at 3700 S. Barr St. at 10:51 AM today.  Victim Assistance called police and advised that an adult female victim who had been battered on 9/27/23 was possibly with the adult male suspect who battered her. There were charges on file for this incident.  Officers arrived on scene and determined that there was a high likely hood that the victim was in the residence with the suspect.  Tactical units were paged to the scene.

Numerous attempts were made to get the occupants of the residence to exit voluntarily, but were unsuccessful. It was unknown whether the victim was being held against her will or was refusing to come out.  After additional failed attempts were made to get the occupants out of the house, a distraction device was deployed and the front door was breached.  The subjects still did not exit.  Gas was deployed and 6 individuals exited the residence, to include the victim and the suspect.  The suspect was placed into custody.  All parties involved were uninjured and are being interviewed by investigators.  This is an ongoing investigation and all information is preliminary and subject to change as the investigation unfolds.  This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.
