On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at approximately 2111 hours, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the 6500 block of Reed Rd reference a single motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

The motorcycle was traveling northbound on Reed Rd when it left the roadway. Officers on- scene rendered aid to the driver of the motorcycle. Medics transported the driver to a local hospital. The driver’s injuries from the crash were determined to be life threatening at the hospital.

Speed is being investigated to determine if it was a factor in the crash. It is unknown at this time if alcohol played a role in the crash.

This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Crash Team.
