On Wednesday, May 10th, 2023, at around 8:30 pm, Fort Wayne Police Department Vice and Narcotics detectives, with the assistance of the Gang and Violent Crimes Unit, served a search warrant at 517 Lawton Pl. One of the suspects inside the house had two active warrants (dealing methamphetamine and violation of probation) for his arrest and was possibly armed with guns. The suspect refused to exit the house after repeated announcements. He was considered a barricaded subject; therefore, the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Emergency Services Team, Crisis Response Team, and Air Support Unit were paged out around 11:45 pm to assist. At approximately 1:25 am, May 11th, 2023, the suspect exited the house and was taken into custody without further incident.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
