Details:

On November 15, 2022, at 4:05 pm, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Walmart, 7500 Southtown Crossing. Officers arrived and located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s). The male was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening-condition, where he was later upgraded to non-life-threatening condition.

Initial information indicates an altercation took place between the victim and at least one other adult male (information is still pending on where the argument began). During the altercation, shots were fired, and the victim was struck. Witnesses called 911 and provided call takers with a description of the fleeing suspect vehicle, which was located shortly after by the Allen County Police Department and stopped. Two adult males in that vehicle were detained and are at the police department being interviewed by detectives. The victim is also being interviewed by detectives at the hospital.

Any charges stemming from this incident will be decided up at the conclusion of the interviews.

Crime scene personnel were called to the scene to document and collect evidence. Detectives are canvassing for witnesses and hoping to obtain video surveillance from the nearby businesses.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police or use the P3 crime stoppers app.

There is nothing further at this time.
