The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred this morning at the East Central Towers Apartment Complex that resulted in an adult male sustaining life-threatening injuries. During the course of the investigation information was received indicating that the suspect from the shooting was possibly in the East Central Towers Apartment Complex. Numerous attempts were made by officers to make contact with the occupants of the suspected apartments, but were unsuccessful.
The Emergency Service Team, Crisis Response Team, and the Air Support Unit were called-out to the scene. More attempts were made to make contact with the occupants of the suspected apartments, but again were unsuccessful. As a result, two apartments were searched in the apartment complex. The suspect was not located in either apartment. The surrounding apartments were evacuated for public safety.
