The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigation a fatal single vehicle accident that occurred August 27th, 2022 at approximately 5:54 am at 2100 Lake Ave. Preliminary investigation indicates that a tan Hyundai was traveling South on Randallia Drive when the driver (solo occupant) crossed Lake Ave and struck a tree on the property of Lake Side Middle School.
The driver, an adult male, was rendered care at the scene by paramedics and was pronounced deceased a short time later at a local hospital.
The Fatal Accident Crash Team and the Air Support Unit were requested to investigate the crash. The Coroner’s office will release the name of the deceased once notification has been made to the family.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office.
