On Saturday, 09/03/2020, at approximately 1:01 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 5000 block of Werling Drive reference a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located the male/adult victim inside a residence.

At approximately 9:30 pm officers were at the Regency Inn, 1004 W. Coliseum Blvd, for an unrelated call to service. While conducting their investigation an adult female approached officers and requested assistance retrieving some personal items from the hotel.
Murder Arrest Update
Following the arrest of Tommy Lyles on September 29th 2020, homicide detectives continued to investigate the murder he was charged with and discovered evidence and witnesses that exonerated him.

Fort Wayne Police Department Homicide Division along with Vice Narcotics and Gang and Violent Crimes Division arrested Tommy Lyles M/B/56 DOB 1-21-1964 on a preliminary charge of Murder today as he walked in the area of 900 E Wayne Street today.
