Traffic Coordinator

Lieutenant Tony Maze is the Traffic Grant Coordinator for the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Traffic Coordinator for the Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT). He oversees the acquisition of traffic safety grants, their administration, and day-to-day coordination of the FACT team. Additionally, Lt. Maze oversees the Allen County Traffic Safety Partnership, which was formed in spring 2009.  

Public Safety Response Team (PSRT)

PSRT Patch JPEGThe Public Safety Response Team (PSRT) is a specially trained team that is responsible for responding on very short notice to serve the citizens of Fort Wayne during a time of civil unrest.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: civil disturbances, protests, large public gatherings, dignitary protection, crowd control, and any other detail that requires the assistance of a large number of officers. 

Ft. Wayne/Allen Co. Crash Team (FACT)

The Fort Wayne/Allen County Crash Team (FACT) was established in June 2006. The Unit consists of officers from the Fort Wayne Police Department; five teams with five officers on each team. These officers (who volunteer to serve on this team) are specifically trained to investigate serious injury and fatal crashes throughout Allen County. Grant assistance is obtained from the Governor’s Council on Impaired & Dangerous Driving.

Obtain fingerprinting services

  • The local ink fingerprinting fee is $7.00 per card and can be done at the Police Desk. A valid form of identification is required. Questions can be directed to 260-427-1222 or 260-427-1340.

  • Electronic finger printing is completed through IdentoGO, operated by IDEMIA, (formally MorphoTrust) and requires an appointment. IdentoGo can be reached online at https://www.identogo.com/ or by phone at 1-877-472-6917.

  • Immigration Prints:

    • Immigration will send paperwork with the directions on when and where to obtain prints. Immigration can be contacted at 1-800-375-5283.

The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Bureau is commanded by Deputy Chief James Feasel and Captains Kevin Hunter and David Nelson.

The Bureau is committed to the investigation of narcotics and vice crimes and related activities. The Vice and Narcotics Bureau is staffed with detectives working in an undercover capacity, uniform detectives who work in conjunction with the undercover detectives, Task Force detectives who are assigned to work with the various federal law enforcement agencies, and the Gang and Violent Crimes Unit. The Vice and Narcotics Division also oversees the Honor Guard, Hope & Recovery Team, PAL, and the Pipe & Drum Brigade.

Chief's Complex

Assistant Chief Karl Niblick commands the Chief's Complex.

The complex consists of both civilian and sworn personnel who report directly to the Chief of Police and to the Assistant Chief. Many of these position include administrative and technical support.

Records

The Records Section is responsible for maintaining the Department’s centralized records management program and works in conjunction with the Spillman Record Management Computer Administrator as custodians of all Departmental records.The Records Section will maintain all case records, identification records, criminal history files, the master alphabetical index files, a master case number file, the Spillman Record Management Computer file, and other files as deemed appropriate.
