Community Problem

Details:

The City of Fort Wayne has seen a rash of violence over the past couple months between two local street gangs. The Fort Wayne Police Department Gang and Violent Crimes Unit has been investigating this feud, collecting intelligence and conducting targeted enforcement on key players

The GVCU has continued utilizing investigative strategies and enforcement techniques attempting to minimize the violence associated with these groups.  Due to the combined efforts of GVCU Detectives and Southeast Operations officers; five associated members were arrested early this morning and charged with a variety of offenses (three were juveniles, two were adults). Additionally, seven firearms were confiscated by GVCU detectives as a result of the investigations last night.

It is the hope of the City of Fort Wayne Police Department that the multiple arrests and firearms confiscated will lead to a reduction in violence between the involved street gangs.  Anyone with  information is asked to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department Gang and Violent Crimes Unit at 260-427-5575 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
