Location of Incident: 2600 Block of Princeton Ave.
Suspect : Adult Male

Fort Wayne, Ind - Officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a residence in the 2600 block of Princeton Ave. in reference to a call of a domestic disturbance. As officers arrived, they made contact with an adult female occupant. Officers were advised that there was an adult male inside the residence and that he was armed with a handgun. The suspect was reported to be suicidal and made threats to harm others. Officers set up a perimeter around the residence and called for the Emergency Services Team (EST) as they attempted to contact the suspect.

The FWPD Emergency Services Team was occupied with another assignment and the Allen County Police Department's SWAT Team responded to assist. The Allen County SWAT Team took the suspect into custody after he was found hiding inside the residence. The suspect was transported to a local medical facility for a mental health evaluation.

There are no criminal charges at this time. The incident remains under investigation with the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
