Shooting Investigation - Critical Condition
Date/Time of Incident: May 31, 2013 at 4:49 p.m.
Location of Incident: Broadway and Taylor Street
Victim: Adult Male - Critical but stable condition
Subject Arrested: Tazz Dustin Langston, male/age 28, of Fort Wayne (Not injured)
Charges: 1. Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon
2. Possession of a Firearm by a Domestic Batterer
Fort Wayne, Ind - On May 31 at 4:49 p.m., 2013 Officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the area of Broadway and Taylor Street in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived on the scene and learned the that the adult victim had been transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle. The victim was reported to be in critical condition at a local hospital. After medical treatment, the victim was later updated to serious, but stable condition.
Witnesses reported that they had observed two adult males, in a heated discussion, in the parking lot on the southeast corner of Broadway and Taylor. Witnesses reported hearing one gunshot and observed two vehicles leave the scene.
During the course of the investigation, officers obtained the name of a suspect. A uniform patrol officer located the suspect near the area of Fairfield and West Berry. The suspect fled on foot and initially eluded officers. Experienced patrol officers, with knowledge of the area, located the suspect at a local hang out on Herman Street. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the police station.
