Incident Time:               10:15 a.m.

Incident Location:         E. Washington Blvd./S. Anthony Blvd.

On Friday, April 5, 2013, at approximately 10:15 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of E. Washington Blvd. and S. Anthony Blvd. in reference to a critical injury accident.  Medics arrived first on the scene and advised that the motorcyclist appeared to be in critical condition.  Officers arrived at the scene and discovered a blue moped that had crashed in the middle of Washington Blvd. and a maroon GMC Sonoma pickup truck on a curb off of E. Washington Blvd.  The operator of the blue moped was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.  The driver of the pickup truck was also transported to a local hospital in fair condition.

A preliminary investigation indicates the moped was traveling south on S. Anthony Blvd. and turned eastbound on E. Washington Blvd. at the same time the truck was traveling north on S. Anthony Blvd. and turned eastbound on E. Washington Blvd.  The motorcycle and truck crashed into each other.

At this time, the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (F.A.C.T.) is investigating the incident and processing the scene.  This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
