Victim: Adult female; pronounced deceased at the scene.
Fort Wayne, Ind. - On Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 2:08 p.m., the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to 4331 S. Anthony Blvd. in reference to a death investigation. A caller reported that there were two people inside this location and that he believed they needed assistance. The caller also reported a suspicious odor coming from inside this location. First responders located two people inside the vacant business unit: one, an adult female, who was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics of the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, and a second adult female who was transported from the scene to a local hospital in serious condition. There were no obvious signs of trauma on either person, and foul play is not suspected at this time. The Allen County Coroner will determine the exact cause and manner of death of the deceased, and will confirm and release her identity.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department assisted in the investigation with regard to the suspicious odor; nothing was immediately detected.
The incident remains under investigation with the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, and the Allen County Coroner's Office.

Death Investigation Update
Fort Wayne, Ind – On Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 2:08 p.m., the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to 4331 S. Anthony Blvd. where two people were discovered inside a vacant store unit. At that time, an adult female was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a second adult female was transported to a local hospital in serious condition; her condition has since deteriorated and she remains hospitalized in critical condition at this time. That same day, two other persons presented in the emergency room of a nearby hospital, a third adult female and an adult male; both were identified as being associated and involved with this investigation. They are not hospitalized at this time.
The Methamphetamine Suppression Unit assisted in this investigation because products associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine were discovered at the scene at 4331 S. Anthony Blvd., and were also discovered in a vehicle that was identified as part of this investigation. Investigators have reason to believe that there was an active methamphetamine lab at the vacant store unit on that day.
This is an ongoing investigation with the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. There is nothing further at this time.
