Fort Wayne, Ind. -  On Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at approximately 10:43 a.m. the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to Freedom Financial Federal Credit Union at 1802 Inwood Drive reference a report of a bank robbery. Employees reported that two male subjects, one armed with a long gun, were spotted near the bank. The employees immediately activated security measures and locked the lobby doors thereby denying the perpetrators access to the bank.  The perpetrators then reportedly fled on foot eastbound into a nearby residential area, and possibly to a waiting vehicle.  There were no customers inside when the incident occurred and there were no injuries reported at the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the Northeast Indiana Bank Robbery Task Force.  This task force is composed of investigators with the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Sheriff Department, Indiana State Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
