Location of Incident:        1600 Bayview Dr.; Arbor Lakes Apartments

Victim:                               Adult Female

Subject Arrested:              MICHAEL STOTS, age 38, Fort Wayne

On Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at approximately 9:30 a.m. the Fort Wayne Police responded to 1600 Bayview Dr. for a Problem Unknown.  Prior to police arrival callers advised Fort Wayne Police Communications that a male and female were arguing and things were being thrown out of the window of an apartment.  A female was able to leave her apartment and met with responding officers.  She advised that a MICHAEL STOTS was inside her apartment and he became angry and aggressive with her and she was able to leave.  However, STOTS would not leave her apartment.  Officers attempted to make contact with him at the door and he refused to come out.  The Emergency Services Team (EST) was contacted and responded to a page for a barricade subject due to the subjects aggressive behavior, being inside an apartment that was not his, refusing to come out and that he had been a danger to others and possibly himself.

Once EST made the location, STOTS surrendered on his own without incident.  STOTS was transported to the Police Station for questioning and arrested for STRANGULATION (D. Felony) and BATTERY (A Misdemeanor).

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
