Shooting Investigation

Location of Incident:        4600 Spatz Ave

Victim 1:                              Male Adult (deceased)

Victim 2:                              Female Adult (Fair condition)

Victim 3:                              Male Adult (uninjured)

On May 12, 2012 at approximately 10:44 p.m., the Fort Wayne Allen County Communications Center received several calls of shots fired in the area of 4600 Spatz Ave. Officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the area. Once in the area of 4600 Spatz Ave Officers located a tan-colored Nissan four-door with three people inside. Two of these people had apparently been shot. Medics arrived on the scene and declared the driver, victim one, deceased at the scene. The rear passenger, victim two, was taken to a local hospital in fair condition. The front seat passenger, victim 3, was uninjured.

We are still very early in our investigation, but at this point what we have determined is that the tan-colored Nissan, with the three victims inside it, was traveling in an undetermined direction on Spatz Ave. As the Nissan approached the 4600 block of Spatz Ave gun fire erupted. Victim one and Victim two were struck by that gun fire. Victim three was unharmed.

There are no suspects in custody and no arrests have been made.

This case remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner's Office and the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.
