Victim: Adult Female, Critical Condition
Today at approximately 7:49 a.m., the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2000 block of S. Anthony Blvd. reference a report of an automobile accident with a pedestrian struck. Officers arrived on the scene and located the pedestrian in the grassy area west of the roadway. She was listed in serious condition at the scene and immediately transported to a local hospital by TRAA paramedics where she was later listed in critical condition.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the involved vehicle, a Chevy Lumina, was traveling north bound on S. Anthony Blvd. when it struck the pedestrian and a light pole. No other injuries were reported at the scene.
The 2000 block of S. Anthony Blvd remains closed to traffic at this time (north of Creighton Ave. and south of Simons St.) while investigators with the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (F.A.C.T.) process the scene. This incident remains under investigation by the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (F.A.C.T), and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
