Cellular Telephone Provides Investigators with Link to Apartment Complex Robbery Suspect / Canterbury Apartment Complex & Stone Pointe Village Apartment Complex

Arrest Made in Apartment Complex Robberies
The City of Fort Wayne Police Department has made an arrest in a recent string of apartment complex robberies. A photograph of the suspect on a cellular telephone found at the scene provided detectives with the necessary link to the crime.
Date/Time of Incident: September 10, 2011 / 2:31 a.m.
Location of Incident: Woodshire Drive & Roebuck Blvd., Canterbury Apartments
Loss: Two Cellular Telephones
Three victims reported walking along Northgate Blvd. and being approached by a male subject who requested the use of their cellular telephone to ‘call his parents’. As the victims continued to walk away, the subject approached them from behind brandishing a handgun and demanded ‘all their stuff’. The perpetrator searched the victims’ pockets, fired a single shot into the air, and then fled the scene with two cell phones.

Two victims had just returned to their apartment home when two subjects ran up behind them, one brandishing a handgun and demanding money. When the victims hesitated, the perpetrator reportedly cocked the gun causing a bullet to eject. The perpetrator then struck the male victim in the face and fled the scene firing a single shot into the air.

Location of Incident: 2200 Abbey Drive, Canterbury Apartments
Loss: Wallet with cash and miscellaneous items
Victim had just parked his vehicle in a parking space and exited his vehicle when two subjects approached him. One subject grabbed the victim’s wallet from his hands and demanded his keys. The victim began to walk away when he reportedly heard what sounded like the action being worked on a gun. The victim turned back to see that the suspect had a gun pointed at him.

Location of Incident: 2600 Northgate Blvd., Canterbury Apartments
Loss: Cellular telephone, and wallet with debit cards
Victim was in the carport area of lot when he was approached by a subject with a handgun who instructed him to place all of his belongings on the ground. Suspect then fled the area with the victim’s cell phone and wallet.
In one of the investigations, the victim located a cellular telephone lying in the grass near the area where the incident occurred. He reviewed the photograph images on the cellular telephone in an attempt to identify the owner and recognized one subject in several of the images as the subject who had robbed him. Additional information received reference another investigation included a photograph of the perpetrator who was reportedly attempting to sell two cellular telephones, believed to be the cellular telephones taken during one of the robberies. The victims in that investigation recognized this person as the person who had robbed them. The perpetrator was subsequently linked to these investigations and two others.
Boris Cuckovic, age 20, of Fort Wayne was located yesterday afternoon, taken into custody without incident, and was later transported to the Allen County Jail on four counts of robbery, and possession of a handgun by a serious violent felon.
