Personal Injury Accident, Motorcyclist in Critical Condition
W Washington Center Road and Lima Road

Victim: Male, Age 54 / Critical Condition
On Friday, June 17, 2011 at approximately 6:13 p.m., the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the area east of the intersection of W Washington Center Road and Lima Road reference a report of an automobile accident involving a motorcycle.
Officers arrived on the scene and located the motorcycle operator suffering from what appeared to be substantial head injury(ies). The victim, age 54, was transported from the scene to a local hospital and was determined to be in critical condition.
At this time, it is believed that the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on W Washington Center Road when a 2002 Buick, which was exiting the lot of a restaurant, proceeded onto W Washington Center Road and into the path of the motorcycle. The operator of the vehicle reportedly did not see the approaching motorcycle and the motorcycle collided with the vehicle sending the motorcycle operator head-first into the vehicle. The motorcycle operator was wearing a half-helmet.
The operator of the vehicle and a passenger were transported to a local hospital in fair condition.
This incident remains under investigation with the Fatal Crash Team (FACT), and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
