Details:

Fort Wayne Police responded to the report of a pedestrian being struck on Coliseum Boulevard at Harris Road at approximately 10:45 p.m. this evening. Once on scene officers along with fire and medic personnel determined the victim to be in critical condition. He was transported to a local hospital where shortly thereafter was pronounced dead.

Investigators have determined at this time the driver was eastbound on Coliseum and had just cleared the intersection of Harris Road when she struck the victim as he attempted to cross Coliseum Boulevard. The driver, sole occupant of her Chevrolet Cavalier was uninjured. As is standard investigative procedure she was transported to a local hospital where a blood draw will be conducted for drug and alcohol analysis.

Investigators are not releasing names at this time allowing for proper family notification to take place. No charge(s) have been filed at this time.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Crash Team, the Allen County Coroners office, and the Allen County Prosecutors office.
