Shooting Investigation, Male Adult Pronounced Deceased at the Scene

 

 

On Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at approximately 10:56 p.m., the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 1300 block of Scott Avenue reference a report of a possible shooting. The calling party reported hearing a gunshot and then seeing a body lying in a nearby alleyway.

 

Officers arrived on the scene and in a north-south alleyway in the 1300 block of Scott Avenue, they located a male adult suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound(s). The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

At this time investigators have little information about this incident and encourage anyone with information to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department at 260 427-1222, or to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 260 436-7867. This incident remains under investigation with the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
