Date/Time of Incident:   March 24, 2011 / 7:46 a.m.

Location of Incident:      Hamilton Avenue & S Lafayette Street

Victim:                          Female, Age 15

 

The Fort Wayne Police Department is currently investigating a report of an attempted abduction that reportedly occurred this morning at approximately 7:46 am.  The victim, a fifteen-year old female, reported that she was alone and was walking to her school when a male subject driving a dark-colored vehicle approached her offering her a ride.  When she declined the ride, the male subject reportedly exited his vehicle and attempted to physically force her into the car.  The victim fled the scene.

 

Suspect Description:     Male black with a dark complexion, early to mid thirties, stocky or heavy

set, and clean shaven.  He was last seen wearing a black hooded

sweatshirt.

Vehicle Description:      Smaller or mid-size four door vehicle, black in color.

 

The Fort Wayne Police Department encourages parents to review safety tips and precautions with their children who may be walking to and from school.  It is good practice to have an adult or schoolmate walk with your child to and from school whenever possible.
