Pursuit/Party Injured Crash

On June 21st, 2021 at approximately 9:43pm FWPD Officers with the Violent Crimes and Gang Unit attempted to stop a vehicle in a traffic stop around Fry St. and W. Main St.  The vehicle fled from Officers and was occupied by 4 occupants.  During the course of the pursuit a gun was tossed from the vehicle, which was later recovered by Officers.  The suspect vehicle ran the red light at Fairfield and Main St. traveling South bound on Fairfield and collided with another vehicle that was driving West bound on Main St.  The vehicle that was headed West bound on Main was occupied by an adult female and a 4 year old child.  The 4 year old child sustained moderate injury in the collision.  The child was in a booster seat incorrectly and was transported to a local hospital in non-life threatening condition.

The driver of the suspect vehicle was taken to a local hospital for a possible blood draw for impairment testing.  The driver of the suspect vehicle and a passenger in that vehicle have charges pending.  The other two passengers in the suspect vehicle were released.  This incident remains under investigation by the Violent Crimes and Gang Unit, FACT Team, and the Prosecutor’s Office.
