Post Applying for a Handgun License
If you live within the Fort Wayne city limits, you may come to the Fort Wayne Police Department Headquarters at One E. Main Street between the hours of 6:30 am and 9:30 pm, Monday through Friday, to complete a Gun Permit Application.

If you are seeking a Personal Protection Permit-4 Year, then you will need $10.00 cash (local fee), and a $30.00 money order made payable to the State of Indiana.

If you are seeking a Personal Protection Permit-Lifetime and it is before your current license expires, then you will need $40.00 cash (local fee), and a $60 money order made payable to the State of Indiana.

If you are seeking a Personal Protection Permit-Lifetime and your current license has expired or you are seeking a new license, then you will need $50.00 (local fee), and a $75.00 money order made payable to the State of Indiana.

Also bring with you:
-Four first-class postage stamps for each application
-Valid Indiana Drivers License or Identification Card

If you are using the L1 option for electronic printing do you still need the stamps?

It is my understanding that the L1 option is an electronic submission and that stamps will not be required. However, the local fee will still need to be paid and at this time, only cash is being accepted for the local fee.
