Post Want to be a police officer/ Have minor criminal history
I am a criminal justice student at Ivy Tech and so far am getting all A's. I really want to become a police officer but came to this decision a little late. I am fully dedicated to this decision and know that is the life I want for myself and my family. The basic requirements of graduating highschool and no felonies or domestic violence. In 2005 though I made a stupid decision and was arrested and convicted of misdameanor fleeing and misdameanor criminal wrecklessness. Also from 2003 to 2005 I built a healthy driving record. I have not had any tickets nor infractions or violations of any kind since 2005. My driving record has cleared the points. Is there any time gap that will make my misdameanors more likely to be overlooked and how much would an associates degree help my application even with those infractions? When I finsh my degree the convictions will be seven years old.

Each candidate is looked at with a very fine tooth comb. There are things that would keep an individual from being considered. The best response I can give you at this time would be to apply and see if you make it through the process when we have one.
