When a pedestrian has the "walk" light displayed, and is crossing the street within the painted borders of the crosswalk, is it unlawful for a car to enter, encroach or crowd the pedestrian(s)?
This really drives me crazy, and I've nearly been hit a number of times. I look both ways multiple times and always wait for the light, but I'm shocked at how many people see nothing wrong with getting extremely close to people legally crossing the street.
I understand that unless law enforcement witnesses it, there is nothing they can do. I just want to be sure I'm not way out of line crossing the street when the little man tells me to.
Thanks,
Fed Up Pedestrian.
