I live in an apartment building. As far as utilities all I have to pay is Electric. Gas is supplied and paid for by the complex. As of today, we have not had hot water for 4 days because the gas has been shut off again. I have so much mold in my apartment that it is making me and my 7 month old sick and the apartment complex has known about this for 3 months now and is doing nothing about the problem. They have laundry facilities in each building, but since I have lived there, they have not been operative.
Is there something I can do about this? I pay $450 rent and have all these problems with my apartment. When I moved in, the carpet was so bad in the apartment i'm in that we replaced the carpet and tile floor in the kitchen before we could move in.
Also if for some reason the building is deemed condemned, is it my responsibility to find a place to live or is the apartment complex who is responsible for finding the tenants somewhere to go?
Thank you for your time and any response would be appreciated.
PS: We already contacted the Neighborhood Code about this and nothing has been done there either.
