Falsifying a death

Post Falsifying a death 
I know of someone who falsified a death of someone who never existed. Is this illegal? She had a obituary printed and all. Is this something that should be reported?

It would be illegal if she stands to gain from this act somehow by means of defrauding. This person certainly should be evaluated.

Is there a particular department I should contact at the police station to discuss this in more detail?

I would call our non emergency line 427-1222 and ask to speak with a uniform officer concerning the matter. He or she will meet with you and record all of the facts. The report will then be forwarded to a detective for further scrutiny.
