Post Concealed Weapons Permit Upon Turning 18
Dear Mike,

I know that the concealed weapons permit has been previously discussed in different posts but I am curious about it in a different perspective. I will be 18 in October, 2009 and I understand that by that time the law could very well change. Using the law in place now how would I go about purchasing a handgun and receiving a lifetime concealed weapons permit?

Indiana has issued Concealed Handgun Licenses at 18 for quite some time and there is no reason to believe that it will change any time soon.

The under-21 handgun laws really only apply to commercial purchases (buying it from a store). You can do a face-to-face handgun transfer, so long as you do it in Indiana and you are both Indiana residents.

You can also have your parents buy the handgun commercially and transfer / gift it to you.
