Post Citing illegally-parked vehicles
I wonder if the FWPD ever does any parking enforcement, because Parking Control seems to do the majority of their work DOWNTOWN?

I ask this because on the lower SE side (Pettit-Rudisill for example) no one from EITHER PC or FWPD EVER seems to write up ALL those vehicles parked on the WRONG side of the street, park well WITHIN the 15 ft, limit to maiboxes, intersections AND (especially )fire hydrants, as well as those who pull into driveways and yet BLOCK the sidewalks.

I won't even get into all the DOUBLE and TRIPLE parking that goes on.
And you dare not honk at THEM...they m,ght up and shoot you!

I did check into city ORDINANCES regarding this, and these are ALL VALID infractions.

Perhaps some active patrols might solve this?
Or maybe show up and tow away the offending vehicles?

Seems this CAN be dealt with.

Yes, in addition to our many other duties, the Fort Wayne Police Department does respond to and issue citations for parking violations. These are low priority calls though and so my suggestion is that if there is a chronic problem you should notify Parking Control using One Call to City Hall at 311. If the violations are occurring after Parking Control is closed, then you can make a complaint via the non-emergency line to the FWPD at 260 427-1222.
