BB and Pellet Guns

Post BB and Pellet Guns 
My son wants a BB gun. We live in the historical district downtown. We have an 8 ft privacy fence around the rear yard. I need to know if I am allowed to build him a small range to use his BB gun. What are the regulations and or laws concerning BB guns in Fort Wayne? Thanks!

Post BB Guns, Air Soft Guns, and Pellet Guns 
The use of BB guns, air soft, and pellet guns on private property in a safe manner is not prohibited. General Ordinance 97.62 does, however, prohibit the use of such weapons within the limits of any park or within 500 feet thereof.
