I'm currently serving in the United States Marine Corps and have been in an active duty status for just about 3 years. I'm just trying to get information as to what I need to do and what my past military experience has already qualified me for. Such as,"Do I need to go to the police academy?" Also, if I currently have a combat MOS in the Marines does that cancel out the academy with my previous training, and also deployments to Afghanistan? My final question is about the rank structure in the Ft Wayne PD, I'm currently a Corporal in the Marine Corps and E4. Does that rank carry over or do I start all over, and what is the likelihood of me becoming an officer in the Ft Wayne PD with my previous experience as a Marine?

There is no special waivers given for military training as it pertains to the police academy. No rank privledgs would carry over to our agency if hired.
