Post Burning Laws
Hello,

I was curious what the laws are when it comes to burning sticks/twigs/leafs from leafs, brought down by pruining or storms. Is this ok to do so as long as it is a controlled fire in a fire pit?

Thanks

I would refer to the www.fortwaynefiredepartment.org site ask a Fire Fighter section I think they could answer this in more detail.

The online code has answers to a lot of the questions posted here. It's easy-to-use and searchable:

http://www.amlegal.com/nxt/gateway.dll/Indiana/ftwayne/fortwayneindianacodeofordinances?f=templates$fn=default.htm$3.0$vid=amlegal:fortwayne_in

94.71 BURNING PROHIBITED.

(A) No person or business shall kindle or maintain any open burning consisting of a trash fire, leaf fire, bonfire, refuse fire, or other open burning.
