Should you inform the officer up front that you are armed?

Whenever you are involved in a traffic stop, inform the officer of your permit, that you are armed and where on your person or in your vehicle the firearm is located. You should NOT make any attempt to retrieve or display your firearm. Keep your hands visible (on the steering wheel) and do not make any quick or furtive movements. Follow all instructions given by the Officer. This information applies to passengers in your vehicle as well.
