With the growing number of cell phone users now days, age range from young to old. I was wondering if any dispatch service was using text as a new way of dispatch. With the ever increasing amber alerts and child kidnapings, I thought about this and figured it might be a good idea. It seems that all kids have cellphones from elementary on up. What if or is there was a way to use texting as another means of contacting emergency help. This may not be the most helpful in smaller rural cities, but in larger cities where abductions and kidnappings are a larger problem this might be useful. Any insight would be appreciated.
