Post Firearm in a bar
I have been trying to find out if it is illegal to carry a firearm into a place that serves alcoholic beverage and can't find an answer anywhere. Can you please tell me if it is ILLEGAL to carry a firearm into a bar or place that sells alcoholic beverage.

Also is there a good place to look up the indiana criminal code on Handguns

I can't find any law prohibiting it. I'll continue my search though. If you do an internet search for Access Indiana you will find our codes or statutes listed for easy review.

Post Carrying in taverns
This caught my attention. I used to carry and did so in many bars. I was younger and foolish. I carried with the knowledge and permission of the bar owners. Some strip clubs had Ft. Wayne officers in attendance and they generally knew who carried and who didn't. Those bars were pretty safe places to be. You never knew who among the customers were carrying but you wouldn't want to see some fool attempt a robbery.

It isn't the fire arms that concern me. It's those who carry but don't practice, don't know how to handle their weapon and don't study. Those folks scare me.

To the best of my knowledge, the "only" places (il)legally-prohibited to LTCH holders, in Indiana, are:

--Federal buildings (vague...so nobody knows about Post Offices)
--Land/Water managed by Army Corps of Engineers (mostly reservoirs)
--K-12 Schools (including churches with K-12 schools on the property)
--State licensed day cares (including churches with licensed day cares on the property)
--Riverboat casinos (including those which were chartered as riverboats, though built on land)
--Areas of buildings which contain only courtrooms, by choice of the courts, if all entrances to such areas are equipped with metal detectors operated by trained law enforcement officers
--Indiana Statehouse
--Indiana State Fairgrounds **DURING** the Indiana State Fair
--Public hospital corporation that contains a secure correctional health unit that is staffed by a law enforcement officer twenty-four (24) hours a day
--Various buildings/jails/prisons operated by law enforcement & corrections

The basic rule I go by is this: if the place was built & is maintained with my tax dollars, I'm not allowed to exercise my rights. It's really sad, but a fairly easy way to remember when you need to leave it at home. You can't even leave your pistol in the car when you go to talk to your kid's teachers after work. You have to drive home first.

If a business posts "No firearms" then you are in fact prohibited from carrying...
