Critical Stabbing Investigation

Date:                           Friday, February 10, 2017

Time:                           12:22 AM

Location:                    2600 Oxford St.

Victims: Adult/Female – good condition

Infant/Male – critical condition

Suspect:  Adult/Female
On February 10, 2017, at 12:22hrs, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing at a home in the 2600 block of Oxford St. Officers arrived and located an adult female and infant male who were both suffering from stab wounds. Both were taken to a local hospital, where the adult female was determined to be in good condition, and the infant male was determined to be in critical condition.

Initial information indicates that the adult-suspect and adult-victim got into an altercation inside the home, while the adult-victim was holding the infant in her arms. At some point during the incident, the suspect stabbed the adult and infant victims. The suspect was still on scene when police arrived, and is currently being questioned at the police station.
Investigators are working to determine the relationship between all involved; at this point it is only known that both adults are at least familiar with each other. Investigators are also working to determine what led up to the altercation and stabbing, and to determine who was the initial aggressor. Finally, investigators are trying to piece together if anyone else was present inside the home when this took place, and who the residents of the home are.
At this point, there are no charges known or identities to be released. Those will be released if/when appropriate. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
There is nothing further at this time.
