On Friday, 08/18/2017, at approximately 11:21 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 4300 block of Gaywood Drive reference a shooting investigation.  Officers arrived on scene and located the male/adult victim two blocks away at the intersection of Senate Avenue and Southpark Drive.  The victim was alert and conscious when officers located him.  Officers observed the victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

 

Evidence indicates the shooting occurred in the front yard of a residence in the 4300 block of Gaywood Drive.  It appears the victim walked to the intersection of Senate Avenue and Southpark Drive before being located by officers.

 

Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition.  Upon arriving at the hospital, the victim was downgraded to critical condition by a physician.

 

Detectives are going door to door speaking with residents in the neighborhood.  Crime Scene Technicians are processing the scene and collecting evidence.  There is no suspect information to provide at this time.
