On Sunday, 12/17/2017, at approximately 3:08 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2100 block of Broadway reference a vehicle crash with injuries. Initial reports indicated a vehicle struck a utility pole and the occupants were pinned/trapped inside the vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and observed there were two occupants trapped inside the vehicle. The driver was an adult/male and the passenger was an adult/female. Both occupants were unconscious and unresponsive when officers first made contact with them. Due to the extensive damage to the vehicle, the Fort Wayne Fire Department had to extricate the victims from the vehicle. The vehicle crossed the center line, left the roadway, and struck a utility pole on the east side of the road. Investigators have confirmed alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the crash.
