Critical Injury Investigation

Victim: Adult Male / Critical Condition
On December 9, 2017, at 0103hrs, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of S. Anthony Blvd and Oxford St. on a report of an unknown problem involving a male covered in blood. At the same time, dispatchers also received reports of gunshots being heard in the 3400 block of S. Anthony Blvd. Officers arrived and located an adult male covered in blood, lying just south of the intersection of S. Anthony Blvd and Oxford St. Medics determined the male to be in serious condition, and drove him to a local hospital, where he was later downgraded to critical condition. It was not apparent what kind of injuries the male was suffering from.
Officers began checking the area and located blood droplets along the sidewalk in the 3400 block of S. Anthony Blvd. Investigators are trying to determine if this is related to the incident, as well as what happened. There is no suspect information. Crime scene units continue to process the scene, searching for and collecting evidence, and detectives are going door to door, trying to locate anyone who may have seen or heard anything.
