Bank Robbery Investigation

Date:        12/03/2016

Time:        10:16 AM

Location:  6304 W. Jefferson Blvd.

Victim:     1st Source Bank

Details:

On Saturday, 12/03/2016, at approximately 10:16 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to 6304 West Jefferson Blvd, 1st Source Bank, reference a reported bank robbery.

Preliminary information indicates three suspects entered the bank and demanded money.  The suspects were described as two females and one male all wearing masks covering their faces.  It was reported the suspects fled the bank driving a dark red or burgundy colored SUV bearing no license plate.  A Fort Wayne Police Sergeant canvasing the area observed a burgundy colored SUV bearing no license plate driving southbound on Ardmore Avenue.  The Sergeant did a U-turn and attempted to catch up to the vehicle.  He located the vehicle parked unoccupied in the middle of the roadway in the 3600 block of Nuttman Avenue.  Officers saturated the area and three persons of interest were located and detained in the immediate area without incident.  The three subjects have been transported to police headquarters for interviews.

There were no customers inside the bank at the time of the robbery and no injuries were reported.  Crime Scene Technicians are currently processing the bank, the vehicle, and the areas where the subjects were detained for potential evidence.  This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  There are no additional details at this time.
